A pair of one-of-a-kind hoops, hand-carved in wax and cast in recycled sterling silver. Each hoop holds three small stones — an Australian white opal from Coober Pedy, a pink garnet baguette, and a pink opal cut into a nano asscher — set together as a quiet cluster of warm and luminous tones.

Coober Pedy in South Australia produces some of the finest opals in the world, mined from underground in a town that's mostly underground itself. The white opals in Mabel were chosen for their soft milky flash — the kind that catches light differently in every room.

A note on the technique: Lost-wax casting is one of the oldest jewellery techniques still in use — the same method used for ancient bronzes and the earliest gold pieces, made one wax, one cast, one finish at a time.
